Get your Queue Access Pass
To book an appointment at a Berlin public service you first need a Queue Access Pass. This service issues one after you present your identity — but the pass it gives you does not contain your name.
- 1
Present your identity
Only your name and date of birth are read — used once, never stored.
- 2
Receive your pass
We compute a salted hash of your identity and put it — plus the random salt — into the pass. The booking service later sees only this opaque value.
What goes in your pass
- holder_commitment — SHA-256(identity + salt)
- commitment_salt — random, high-entropy
- no name, no birthdate — never leaves this service
The salt lives only in your wallet, so the booking service can never reverse the hash back to your identity — yet at your appointment you can prove it was you who booked.
